User Group Meetings Filling To Capacity

SaddleBrooke Computer Club holds an open User Group Meeting once a month. By open we mean that all of SaddleBrooke is invited, whether you are a Computer Club member or not.

The October meeting featured our President Dennis Korger speaking about Windows 10, answering the questions: What’s new, what’s familiar? Is it easy to learn? Is it really free?

User Group meetings include a question and answer session with knowledgeable PC and/or Apple instructors plus a featured speaker on a variety of computer and technical topics. Upcoming meeting topics include:

* November 16 – Garage Band – presented by Jim O’Brien

* December – Holiday break, no meeting

* January (date TBA) – Orbitel’s Bryan Johnson will update us on Internet connectivity options here in SaddleBrooke

Watch for further program announcements as details become available.

SPACE STILL AVAILABLE IN COMPUTER CLUB CLASSES

The SaddleBrooke Computer Club’s prime mission is teaching. A full schedule of classes is going on right now. While some classes are full to capacity, others still have openings. To see what classes are available, go to the club website at saddlebrookecc.org and click on Courses. Here you can get a list of upcoming courses, their dates and times and a description of each. Go to Enrollment to sign up.

Spring Trimester Classes Being Scheduled

Even as our fall classes are underway, our volunteer instructors have been asked to submit their class schedules for the spring trimester. These upcoming classes will go on our website calendar as the instructors schedule their classes. Spring classes will be available for enrollment starting December 15. (Note: this is a correction from last month’s publication which reported November 15). As the December 15 registration date approaches, Computer Club members should check the website calendar at www.saddlebrookecc.org/calendar.html to see what classes you would like to attend. Class sizes are limited, so be sure to secure your seat in the classes you want soon after registration opens.

How To Join In This Learning Experience

If you are not yet a club member but wish to attend our classes, visit saddlebrookecc.org/membership.html for the details on how to join. There’s a one-time fee of $55 for an individual or $80 for a couple to join the club. After the first year, you pay only a single $30 course fee to take as many classes as you wish in that calendar year. These fees are used to keep the classroom computers, software and related equipment up to date for your use during class.

Teachers Needed

We are always looking for new teachers and new topics. If you have a favorite subject you think would fit in the club’s curriculum and you might like to teach it, let’s talk. You can contact any member of the SBCC board. Board members and their contact information are listed on our website (saddlebrookecc.org) under the Contact Us link.
