Fellowship is grand, but sisterhood is so special. For that reason, ladies who attend the Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke gather once a month, from fall through spring, for a luncheon at the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse. These gatherings are referred to as meetings of the “Soul Sisters.” They are a time when the ladies can get to know each other better, share joys and struggles and be encouraged in their faith. These luncheons have become very popular, perhaps because of the positive and supportive atmosphere. Forty-eight ladies attended the lunch held on October 19.
Much credit goes to Karen Hustad and Patty Elliott who organized everything. Judy Stanard and Lila Millhuff each led the group in a beautiful prayer. Lauchette Low sang a humorous version of A Few of My Favorite Things (think of such items as grab-bars and heating pads). Most of the time was spent in conversation and, at the end of the lunch, 13 ladies who were new to the group were introduced.
The ladies group also undertakes charitable efforts designed to benefit students at Coronado Middle School and also babies and children in nearby communities.
Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke is an all-denominational church that holds services at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday in the Vermilion Room at the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse. Visitors are warmly welcomed.
If the spirit moves you, please join the Soul Sisters for one of their upcoming meetings. Luncheons are normally held on the third Friday of the month. On December 3, in lieu of that month’s luncheon, the group will gather at the home of a member for a special Christmas event. To attend a Soul Sisters event, please contact Karen Hustad by email at [email protected] or call her at 520-664-7001.
