Wow! 2018 has come and gone, and it’s time to welcome the New Year 2019. After the whirlwind of rehearsals for our December 7 & 9 Holiday show, the SaddleBrooke Singers took some time off to gear up for the spring concert. To put the finishing touch on our fall season, a delightful banquet was held that allowed the group members to reflect on another successful program. One of the wonderful things about the SaddleBrooke Singer family is that we all enjoy celebrating together, and these social gatherings have been a great way to get to know each other better. I’m excited about the performances entitled “All That’s Jazz…” I look forward to seeing what our director, Tanya Elias-Graf, has in store for us as begin our rehearsals on Sunday, January 6.
With the holidays now behind us, and our singing hiatus almost over, the SaddleBrooke Singers would like to introduce the 2019 slate of officers. You’ll recognize some familiar names in the mix, as we are fortunate to have several members who have agreed to serve another term on the board. Our 2019 officers are President Jay Hansen, Vice President Loretta Tom, Treasurer Jim Barrett, Secretary Steph Mattie, and Music Coordinator Monica Gray.
By the way, how are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions? Are you tired of making the same promises to yourself year after year? Think about it! How inviting is the prospect to give up sweets in favor of a sugar-free diet? Those donut commercials can be awfully persuasive. And shouldn’t this be the year you don’t feel guilty if you don’t begin cleaning out every closet in your house on January 2nd? Hey, I’ve got an idea! How about resolving to warm up your vocal chords and join a group of community singers as they begin their spring season of music. No audition necessary to become a member of the choir! We’d love to have you be a part of the group.
We are so glad that our assortment of holiday music was able put a smile on your face during the holiday season! We would like to extend a big thank you to all those who attended the SaddleBrooke Singers’ December concert. It was a great pleasure to greet the audience who attend our performances. Also, a round of applause for our sponsors, without whom we could not put on the type of program the SaddleBrooke community has enjoyed over the years. And don’t forget, we’ll be back in the spring for another new show on March 29 & 31!
The SaddleBrooke Singers Organization is comprised of SaddleBrooke residents and has been presenting programs to the community for 25 years. We will begin rehearsing for our spring concert on January 6 so if you’d like more information about joining the SB Singers, please contact Jay Hansen at 520-271-8542.
