The SaddleBrooke Singers believe that music is an important part of a child’s education and have donated $1500 each to the Mountain Vista School in Oracle and the Coronado School in Catalina. These monies are earmarked to support the music program in both schools. The contribution will be especially meaningful at the Mountain Vista School, which is restarting a music program after not having one for several years, under the direction of a new teacher Kaitlyn Miller and the principal Nanette Soulé.
“We would like to thank the residents of SaddleBrooke, our sponsors and our own members for making it possible for us to do this,” said President Sam Page. These funds became available because the group exceeded operating expenses as a result of a successful spring concert supported by the residents of SaddleBrooke, the monetary support of sponsors and the dues paid by the Singers themselves.
The group is currently preparing for its traditional holiday concert entitled A Classic Christmas Holiday, featuring holiday music ranging from classical to traditional to contemporary. This should prove to be another crowd-pleasing performance, highlighting music that we have all come to enjoy as part of our holiday experience.
The Singers’ numbers (and voices) will be swelled by some new members this season as well as returning members from past seasons, making a full, vibrant sound for the upcoming concerts.
The Holiday Concerts are early in the season on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. and would be a great way for you to kick off your holiday season. Tickets are on sale for $18 at the MountainView ticket office or the DesertView Theatre website, http://tickets.saddlebrooketwo.com. For more information contact Sam Page at 825-1047.
