SaddleBrooke Lady Niners

Elaine Kienitz

Spring has finally arrived and some may even say summer with 90 degree days. But it is beautiful out there and a wonderful time to hit the course. Our course is in great shape thanks to you, Mike Roddy, and your staff. We played our annual Ladies Choice Tournament on April 28—where we played with a man who is not our spouse or significant other. This tournament is always a favorite!

Our annual President’s Cup Tournament, which was scheduled for May, has been postponed due to the low number of sign-ups. We know this is a difficult time of year since we just completed the Club Championship and also have a good number of ladies who are traveling or going back to other areas for the summer. The dates that seem to work the best for all groups are November 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19. Most of our snowbirds are back by then and we don’t conflict with other groups. We will have our original Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday-Tuesday format. This has the tournament lasting two weeks instead of five weeks. Reminding you, this is a Match Play format, so each tournament day would be half of the previous field. We’ll be doing a match play format on one of our regular play days for practice so everyone knows how to proceed. It will be fun.
