March 2015 activities for the MountainView Lady Putters included putting with the Putter Sputters at HOA1 on March 2. Those who attended braved the cool and rainy weather and enjoyed the time shared with our fellow putters from HOA1.
On March 9 our monthly luncheon celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and featured a fashion show of the latest styles from Chico’s. We were excited to have Chico’s return for a show after a five year hiatus. The show was emceed by Kathleen Dunbar from Chico’s and also included Chico’s dresser Carolyn Withrow and Chico’s model Mary Jo Swartzburg. MVLP models included Karen Markley, Karen Stott, Sandy Barney and Cathy Scott. We learned some useful tips regarding current trends and style selection for Chico’s clothes in particular. The colors showcased vibrant blues, lavender, watercolor shades of green and yellow along with khaki, black and white which are timeless standards. Chico’s color-coordinates their jewelry and there are numerous accessories for every clothing item in the store. Current trends include wearing shoes in a different color than your outfit and wearing sequined tops at any time of the day.
During the luncheon, presentations were made for monthly putting awards. The following putters received trophies for their outstanding play during February:
Roadrunner Award (low gross score): Pat Wells 36.7
Lou Ann Garvin Tiger Award (low net score): Ruth Brazill 28.3
Hole in Wonder: Janet Parker 8
In April we switch to our summer hours with announcements at 7:30 a.m. and putting at 7:45 p.m. and late announcements/putting at 9:00 a.m. Our monthly luncheon time will change as well with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at 11:00 a.m. There will be no luncheon on Monday, April 13; instead, a short meeting will be held between sessions. On April 27 we will host the SaddleBrooke Ranch Ranchettes here.
Looking ahead, on May 11 our luncheon theme is Happy Trails to wish our snowbirds farewell. Then don’t forget in May we have our Moonlight Madness at HOA1 on May 31. This is a favorite event of the putters and very entertaining.
