Elvis was definitely in the building on Sunday, April 19 to entertain and excite his many fans here in SaddleBrooke. Eight very enthusiastic individuals, dressed in pink and black (Elvis’ favorite colors) attended the Elvis Fan Nite Experience and Dinner, donated and organized by Louise Breves and Pat Smith. This special evening began with delicious appetizers (Swedish meatballs and deviled eggs) and delightful cocktails (Hawaiian Sunsets). Elvis Fans, which included Joyce and Gary Shaw, Dutch and Sandy Officer, Virgil and Nancy Lindquist, Mary Lou Carmody and Jean Barrie, competed in an Elvis Trivia Contest with prizes given to the top three winners, Joyce Shaw, Gary Shaw and Virgil Lindquist.

Elvis fans enjoyed watching the Great Performances DVD and then sharing their stories and memories of Elvis from the beginnings of his career to the very end.

The dinner experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all Elvis fans. The table was festooned with Elvis memorabilia including a pink Cadillac with Elvis playing his guitar. Crystal candlesticks and pink candles adorned the center of the table and musical note name tags were placed in small crystal vases filled with pink silk rosebuds. Elvis-like China was used to serve the entire dinner. It was a beautiful display indeed. The guests raved about the dinner which featured authentic recipes from the Presley family cookbook: Overnight Layered Salad; BBQ Baby Back Ribs; Almond Green Bean Casserole, Tupelo Tater Casserole and for dessert, Sweet Potato Pie and Hummingbird Cake, coffee and tea. Delicious!

Elvis fans shared a photo opportunity with Elvis dressed in his $10,000 gold suit and were each given a Goody Bag which included an Elvis million dollar bill, an Always on My Mind pen, a bling ring and Elvis magnet and an autographed guitar pick.

Members of the Elvis Fan Nite group, Pat Dawydowych, Joanne Valentino, Rose Anderson, Gerry Burnside, Pat Smith and Louise Breves, created and served the entire dinner. Everyone agreed it was a most memorable experience for all who attended. Elvis rules!
