World Habitat Day is an international day of action that highlights the basic right of all humanity to adequate shelter. Formalized by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985, World Habitat Day is an opportunity to engage in global efforts to build a better world, one home at a time.
On World Habitat Day 2018, October 5, more than 300 volunteers representing over 35 corporations, faith communities and organizations came together with Habitat Tucson to raise the walls on six new homes for six hardworking Tucson families. This year, they were raising the walls in Minton Court, in Habitat Tucson’s newest focus neighborhood, Amphi!
Community Church at SaddleBrooke (CCSB) supports Habitat Tucson to help give a hand up to hardworking local families. With this help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. CCSB representatives attending World Habitat Day this year included Pastor Steve Wilson, Keith Gordon and Dick Kroese.
CCSB is a Bible-based church where everyone is welcome and supports the approximately 10,000 residents of our active adult community on the far north side of Tucson. Our mission is to provide varied opportunities for people to establish and develop a spiritual faith in Jesus Christ. Our congregation also believes strongly in providing meaningful support to faith-based and humanitarian charitable organizations in greater Tucson and beyond.
Community Church at SaddleBrooke is a Christ-centered Church with the mission to glorify God by becoming a community of grace where people will receive, live and share the love of Jesus Christ. Join us at the DesertView Performing Arts Center every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in SaddleBrooke and also on December 9 for our first time ever Christmas Cantata. All are welcome.
