Jewish Friendship Group of SaddleBrooke Winter Schedule

Marsha B. Mantykow

I may be in the minority, but I have on jeans, boots, and a jacket, and I am enjoying every minute! Winter has come to the desert and the social season is in full swing.

When you read this our Dec. 15 Hanukkah party will have already happened or will be happening just about now–the confusion when writing articles that are due weeks before publication. But one thing is for certain, the event was or will be a huge success. Most importantly, Courtney’s Courage will have been the beneficiary of the generosity of our members. The donated toys and gift cards will make this holiday season joyous for children with cancer throughout Tucson. To everyone who joined us, thanks for another memorable evening.

If you read last month’s article, pretend you didn’t. Sometimes planning far in advance has its risks. However, we do have actual, for real events coming up. So mark your calendars:

Jan. 15, Gaslight Music Hall. The October Beetle Brothers concert was such great fun, we are doing it again. Get ready to be nostalgic. “Bring Back That Lovin’ Feeling” A tribute to the Righteous Brothers is certain to make you remember slow dancing at your school dance. Weren’t we adorable. We have reserved a block of 30 tickets at the discounted price of $24 each. A menu of pizza, salad, and other goodies is available for purchase. The popcorn is always free. We’re happy to have a new board member, Jeff Luftig, Program Planning. He can be reached at jeffreyluftig@gmail.com with any questions about this event. Watch for an upcoming email for all pertinent RSVP information.

Save the date, Feb. 14. Valentine’s Day wine and hors d’oeuvre cocktail party to be held at the home of Hara Lipman and George Delzell. This informal potluck will be the start of any romantic plans you have for later in the evening. Which, may I suggest, includes flowers for the ladies. Just trying to help with the romance. Watch for an email with final details.

Save the date, Sunday, March 8 at HOA One. We’re working with the venue on the menu. We do have a number of cash cards as prizes for our Bingo games. It will be another fun evening of food, friendship, and a little friendly competition. Watch for emails with all the details as we get closer to the date.

As a strictly social club, we are not affiliated with any religious organization. We welcome all our neighbors to join us.
