STS hosts successful dinner dance

The SaddleBrooke Troop Support (STS) had a very successful Dinner Dance this past October. After a sumptuous dinner prepared by Chef Robert, we had entertainment provided by Shawne Cryderman of Unit 49. Working with a small entertainment crew, Shawne provided a unique variety show. Shawne emceed the show by acting as a cleaning lady and hilariously dusted the heads of a few men at a dining table. The first number was a well received singing of Master of the House performed by Leah and Ron Karl. This was followed by a dance routine performed by the Coyote Country Cloggers, Carole Jones Director. The dance was followed by Sue Case, Marylin Mitchell and Janie Grinstead singing as the Andrews Sisters accompanied by Lennis Boggis on the piano. The Coyote Country Cloggers closed with a patriotic dance routine to the delight of everyone. Many thanks to all for volunteering their time and efforts.
As a reminder of the sacrifices made by our military, a Missing Man Table was set up inside the entrance to the ballroom. This table is in memory of the fallen, missing or imprisoned military service members who could not be with us on that night.
DJ Wally Mara and his wife Jeanny did their usual remarkable program of dance music enjoyed by the stylish dancers. Thank you Wally, and Jeanny, for volunteering your time.
Many thanks go to Joel and Justin Rhoads of the SaddleBrooke Pharmacy who graciously purchased a table to host our military guests for the evening.
The managers of Big Lots from Oro Valley, Ms. Michelle Huerta and Reyna Salas, were in attendance and were given a big round of applause for all of their contributions to the military food banks.
Executive Chef Robert Kaslly of the MountainView Restaurant Bistro, volunteered to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for a military family in need and deliver the meal to them. A struggling family of five at the 162nd Air National Guard had a better Thanksgiving Day thanks to Chef Robert. Many thanks, Chef Robert.
The organizers of the dinner dance, the SaddleBrooke Troop Support, offered a raffle with prizes donated by: Vivaci’s Restaurant, Mia Tierra, Home Depot, Oracle Inn, Claire’s Café and It’s Greek to Me among others. We, the STS, offer a very grateful thank you to all the donors who helped make the dinner dance a huge success.
The real winners of the evening festivities, however, are the active military, veterans and their families who benefit from 100% of the proceeds raised at this event.
