If I had only known the present,
Acknowledged just some of my many
Blessings, been aware of sights and
Sounds and light and color, attuned
To music, to silence, to my own
Inner harmony—
But I was numb and partly blinded,
My senses caught in human play,
My dreams a million miles away.
I couldn’t see the joy all ‘round me—
nor within me.
Somewhere along the way I had
lost touch with magic and wonder.
Now, though the years have gone
when youth and all that means has
passed; Asleep And Now Awake,
I see a new beginning, I feel an
unfamiliar sense of joy and sparkle,
And I Know It’s Not Too Late!
