SaddleBrooke Clubs offer fun and exciting holiday activities for visiting grandkids

Looking for something to do with your young visitors over the winter holidays? A number of our SaddleBrooke Clubs are offering fun and exciting activities.

Friday, December 26

Story Hour will be held for children age two to ten on Friday, December 26 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Mariposa Room at the DesertView Center. Reservations are not necessary. For more information contact Ginny at 818-2953.

Grandma and Me, a fun fitness event featuring yoga, dance, games and other activities, will be held on Friday, December 26 in the MountainView East Ballroom. The session from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. is for children age three to seven. The 11:30 a.m. to noon session is for children age eight and up. Grandmas and Grandpas and parents are all welcome to participate with the kids. All should wear tennis shoes and workout clothes. Ryderwear has plenty of apparel if you are in need of new gear. Zumba Kids, a fast paced dance and fitness event, will be held on Friday, December 26 in the MountainView East Ballroom. The session from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. is for children age three to seven. The 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. session is for children age eight and up. All should wear tennis shoes and workout clothes. Reservations are not necessary. For more information contact Katia at 818-1300.

A Read to Dogs session will be held on Friday, December 26 from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the MountainView Saguaro Room. A trained and certified service dog will be on hand to listen to children read to her. Children are welcome to stop by at any time during the session. Reservations are not necessary. Saturday, December 27

On Saturday, December 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the SaddleBrooke Nature Club will be hosting a wildlife exhibit at the Trailhead at Catalina State Park. The exhibit includes snakes of all kinds, Gila monsters and occasional other featured guests from our local critter community. There are exhibits of animal skins and other hands-on educational opportunities for kids of all ages. Reservations are not necessary. For more information contact Jim at 818-3545.

Tennis Clinic will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27 at the HOA 1 Tennis Center, which is located at the corner of SaddleBrooke Boulevard and Ridgeview Boulevard. The kids will be divided into two age groups—12 and under and over 12—and put on different courts. The under 12 age group session will be one hour from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The over 12 age group session will be 1 1/2 hours from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. The over 12 group should bring their own rackets if they have them. A small number of demo rackets are available for those who do not have their own. Small size rackets and special balls will be provided for the little kids, so they don’t need to bring anything.
