The World War II Roundtable

Larry Linderman

The World War II Roundtable is pleased to announce its guest speaker for the Thursday, March 15 meeting will be SaddleBrooke resident Ted Sakano.

On February 19, 1942 President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, that eventually resulted in the incarceration behind barbed wire of 120,000 persons of Japanese ancestry. Ted Sakano is a SaddleBrooke resident and a retired chemistry professor from Rockland Community College, Suffern, NY. For three years, Ted was one of those confined as a child in the Minidoka Relocation Center near Twin Falls, Idaho. He will give a brief historical overview of this tumultuous period during World War II and will relate these events as they personally affected him and his family.

Please join us for a talk on what many believe to be one of the most shameful moments of our nation’s history.

The Roundtable will meet in the Sonoran Room of the MountainView Clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. All are welcome.
