Death and survivor benefits seminar for vets

This benefits seminar is presented by members of the American Legion Oro Valley Post 132. It will cover all ceremonial and burial benefits available to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as benefits to which their surviving family members are entitled. Free to all veterans and their spouses or next of kin. The seminar is scheduled at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Golder Ranch Fire Department Headquarters, 3885 Golder Ranch Drive in Catalina.

Topics such as government-furnished ceremonies including the playing of Taps, flag folding and firing salutes, cemetery and interment options and grave and niche marker options will be discussed. Additional topics include an over view of Veterans Cemeteries in the United States including the nearby Arizona State Veterans Cemetery in Marana, AZ, their respective eligibility requirements, a discussion of the process of planning ahead while the veteran can take part and the benefits of organizing one’s affairs in advance and trends in the funeral business.
