This year’s event was played at the Saddlebrooke Ranch and the Preserve Golf Club courses on May 20 and 21. Day one at the Ranch the format was a Modified Chapman and day two at the Preserve the game changed to a Best Net Stableford Score between the two partners. Flight winners and the overall champions were those who produced the best or lowest combined score for the two day competition. Once again scoring was off the charts. On day one, 21 of the 39 teams entered produced net scores in the 50s. On day two a net score in the 50s was produced two more times. Unbelievable golf by all! Congratulations to all!
Our overall winners came from Flight 5. The team of Frank McHugh and Steve Bender recorded the tournament’s lowest score at 115 which included a net 52 at Saddlebrooke Ranch on day one. All we can say is congratulations over and over. The other Flight winners and their net scores were Flight 1: Tony Van Natter and Tim Ward with a net 118; Flight 2: Mark Hojnacki and Tom Fitzgerald with a net 123; Flight 3: Larry McNamee and Tom Blong with a net 117; Flight 4: David Cohen and Otto Voorman with a net 124.
On day two at the Preserve two of our sponsors, Lexus of Tucson and Golf Cars of Arizona, offered us the opportunity to win a new Lexus and a new golf car with a hole-in-one. Once again, we were not up to the challenge but hopefully there will be many chances to come. Thanks again for your continued support. After play was completed on day two, all enjoyed a luncheon prepared by the Food and Beverage staff of HOA2 at the Mountainview Ballroom and all of our winners received their awards and much deserved praise. Thanks again to all who made this year’s event special.
