The SaddleBrooke Swim Club held its end-of-the-season social with numerous kudos and awards. Coach Doug Springer announced that we may not be the biggest swim team but you would never know that when you see how many participate in the various swim meets. At the USMS SCY Championship Meet the SaddleBrooke Swim Club had 58 out of the 182 meet participants and came out victorious. Stay tuned for a new trophy case to be located in the DesertView facility. Doug also announced the swimmers who achieved All American Status (the best in their age group for the year in an event). This year’s All Americans are Jill Fritz, Carol Honeywell and Gloria Tolaro. This year’s coaches’ awards went to Ann Lowry (Social Committee Head) and Debi and Steve Truesdale (computer and other meet support). The Heritage Hall Award was presented to Lyn Moreno for the “Let’s Swim” Program. Swim Club President was pleased to present the President’s Award to Joan Pierce for all she has done for the Swim Club including serving as Secretary/Treasurer. Thanks were given to all those who participated in the USMS one-hour swim and the USMS Fun and Fitness 30-Minute Swim, in the Intra-Squad Meet as well as all the swim meets which relied heavily on volunteers (officials, timers, lap counters, hospitality). For summer the official coached workouts have ended but swimmers continue to swim in workouts prepared by individual Swim Club members. For details, check out the website www.SaddlebrookeSwimClub.org. Have a wonderful summer. If you are here, come swim with the club.
