Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815 held its National Youth Week Program Awards Ceremony on May 7. The awards presented were in special recognition of the youth who participated in sports and academic contests offered by the Catalina Mountain Elks Youth Programs.

Joshua Baca, Elizabeth Bolton, Erika Delemarre and Baily French each received $800 scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree or post-secondary vocational/technical certification and have completed one grading period of study.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks promotes youth participation in soccer and hoop shoots, Americanism contests and scholarships, as well as drug awareness programs, dictionary distribution, Special Olympics, scouting and shopping sprees for underprivileged children.
