WOOO Ushers in the New Year with a New Logo

Dee Berisha

WOOO (Women On Our Own) of SaddleBrooke welcomes the new year with continued vibrancy and 35 new members joining in 2022. Our members come to WOOO through many avenues. They may hear about us from acquaintances, family members, or newspaper articles, or WOOO may have been on someone’s to-do list.

WOOO is an organization in SaddleBrooke for single women who are not in a committed relationship, as well as women who find themselves as a longterm caregivers of spouses or partners.

With the new year, we had fun ushering in a new WOOO logo created by a talented SaddleBrooke resident Linda Lyon. Each WOOO woman has her own interpretation of this new logo. Some identify with the color purple, some feel the expression of freedom, some visualize movement and dance, some say the figure is rejoicing, and others see winning! But whatever the vision, we welcome the individuality that each of our members brings.

And that individuality is expressed in such a plethora of events and activities, all based on creating friendships, happiness, and opportunities for community! If you can visualize it, WOOO has, can, or will create it! Activities such as membership potlucks, dine-arounds within SaddleBrooke and outside of SaddleBrooke, ethnic dine-arounds throughout Tucson, movies, book club, pickleball, bridge, day trips, domestic and world travel opportunities, progressive hand and foot, Mexican train, trivia, board games, Mah Jongg, hiking and walking, and wine tasting keep all members as busy as they wish.

Carpooling is offered for many events. So, as the new year begins, WOOO continues our welcome to single women of SaddleBrooke who are not in a committed relationship. Please contact our president Dee Berisha at 520-906-2626 or [email protected] with any questions or to receive a membership form.
