Vista Fine Arts presents The Tucson Girls Chorus

The Tucson Girls Chorus

The Tucson Girls Chorus

Come to Vista on Sunday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. to enjoy the renowned Tucson Girls Chorus as they bring us Songs from Many Lands. The advanced touring chorus will present a program designed to bring light to a place on this planet in need of healing and peace. You will hear music representing light, healing, peace, joy and freedom including some Middle Eastern influence. Altogether, their music will convey a message of joyous hope, especially meaningful when performed by this group of talented young people.

Founded in 1985, the Tucson Girls Chorus is recognized as an outstanding choral education program for girls from kindergarten through high school in seven choirs. With each chorus comes greater responsibilities and musicianship. All choirs have two major concerts in December and in May that are open to the public. They also present concerts locally and participate in community service and fundraising events. The advanced choirs tour nationally and internationally, most recently to China, and have produced CDs.

The Tucson Girls Chorus provides vocal instruction, music theory and musicianship, social interaction, performance opportunities, leadership skills and the chance to serve as ambassadors of the Southwest and the United States both nationally and internationally.

This is a unique and wonderful opportunity to hear this outstanding group of young women right here in northwest Tucson. Vista UMC is located at 3001 E. Miravista Lane (on the west side of Oracle Road, 3.7 miles north of Tangerine). All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The concert is free. An offering will be taken.
