Consider becoming a playing or social member of the SaddleBrooke Verde Sputters! This lively group provides women of all skill levels a chance to putt 18 holes while enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and mountain vistas of our beautiful desert setting. In addition to working on your aim, you’ll enjoy luncheons, tournaments, and social events throughout the year. You can join any time. Membership is open to any resident or renter who does not belong to an established golf league.

Sputters earned a total of 153 holes-in-one over four Mondays of play! Coming in with four holes-in-one during a single round were Sheelagh Simpson and Jean Matheson. The honors for three holes-in-one during a single round in May go to Laura Berkley, Dawn Hecht, Lydia O’Connor, Maggie de Block, Jean Matheson, Marilyn Palatas, Sue Ryan, Shauna Rand (twice), and Virginia LaBar.
Each week, two particularly challenging holes on the course are designated as “money holes.” Putters getting a hole-in-one earn a $5 cash prize. In May, our money hole winners were Lydia O’Connor, Sue Ryan, Donna Gruninger, Marilyn Palatas, Cathy Howard, and Carol Jones.
“Sputting” occurs each Monday, except when the course is shut down for maintenance. During the summer months, check-in at the main putting green behind the SaddleBrooke One clubhouse takes place between 8:30 and 9 a.m., with putting from 9 to 10 a.m. Try a free round before deciding to join.
