Unit 3-S Trivia/Potluck

Brenda Newitter

On August 16, 2018 Unit 3-S residents all met at the home of Debbie and Bob Muise to enjoy their neighbors, eat a potluck dinner and then play a fun game of Trivia. The Trivia questions came in several categories, one of which was “How much do you know about SaddleBrooke?”

Can you answer this question: How many voting members of the Board of Directors are there? The correct answer is there are seven voting members of the Board of Directors.

The food was delicious, prizes were awarded to the Trivia winners and everyone had a fun summer evening.

Unit 16 Bocce Ball & BBQ

Carolyn McLean

In spite of the 95-degree heat, 32 Unit 16 neighbors gathered on Sunday, August 19 for a bocce ball challenge followed by a scrumptious potluck on the tennis patio. It was our pleasure to introduce our new neighbors, Charles and Marie Kahng, making their new home on S Rock Crest Drive, moving from Unit 19 in SaddleBrooke One. Undeterred by the hot temperatures, Paul and Nita Fuchs showed great bocce form, teaching us a trick or two. We all agreed we might have to move the next challenge to cooler temperatures in the fall. Thanks to all that participated. Next up in September, our ice cream social and in October there will be dancin’ in the streets with the Wild Ride band. Stay tuned; more information to come.

Unit 17 Keeps It Cool

Arlene Desjardins served up a wonderful variety of ice cream and accompaniments to Unit 17’ers.

Was there a better way to chill out than by going to Unit 17’s Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 29? It was a beautiful evening. Arlene has hosted this event many times and we heartily thank her. Summer wouldn’t be summer without ice cream!

We want to thank Arlene for all her efforts over the years to keep our unit active. On August 26, twenty 17’ers attended the Gaslight Music Hall and thoroughly enjoyed David Fanning singing Neil Diamond songs. And we won’t want to miss the Halloween Party on October 29 at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center; that’s always great fun, whether you wear a costume or not.

Unit 27

Sue Case

Betty and Rick Cole hosted the August Snack and Chat event on Friday, August 3. The weather cooperated and allowed guests to congregate inside or out; and many attendees moved freely from one location to another during the evening. The guest of honor that night was Karen Erickson, who celebrated her birthday that day. Naturally, a cake was provided, decorated with her name. Happy belated birthday, Karen! It might be noted that Karen’s husband, Don, also had occasion to celebrate his own birthday at a previous Snack and Chat. We appreciate sharing their special occasions with their neighbors.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Ladies Holiday Luncheon to be held at Vivace on Friday, December 7 and the Unit Holiday Party to be held at the MountainView Ballroom on Tuesday, December 11. More information will be coming on both events.

We look forward to autumn, and hopefully, to lower temperatures! Most of all, we look forward to seeing all of our neighbors as they return from their summer getaways.
