On Saturday, May 7 approximately 30 SPA members gathered in the parking lot near the RidgeView Courts to sweep the gravel and dirt off the asphalt. Court Maintenance Chief Ken Powers recruited volunteers to complete this SPA self-help project. The project outcome is twofold. One, lessen the gravel and dirt tracked onto the courts and two; clean the area so that car parking lines can be repainted to assist with easier and safer parking for pickleball players. Brooms, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows were used to remove the excess gravel and dirt from the asphalt. The excess was dumped onto the gravel parking area adjacent to the parking lot. Many hands make light work and the hands-on task was completed in about 45 minutes. The smiling workers are proud of their accomplishments and happy to have a clean parking area with soon-to-be-painted designated parking lines.
