Sonoran Searchers entertain Quester chapters and state officers

Questers Sonoran Searchers invited Questers Catalina Time Walkers, Questers from Tucson, Thimble Peak and Arizona State President Betty Hartnitt and Arizona State Treasurer Gene Serbus to a joint luncheon March 11 at SaddleBrooke.

This luncheon gave all three chapters the opportunity to visit and learn from one another and the Arizona State President Betty Hartnitt gave all the chapters updates of the Questers activities state and national level. Betty brought with her a new brochure that is designed to interest new members in our chapters.

Roxy Johnson was the afternoon speaker representing the Oro Valley Historical Society.

She gave detailed information on the history of Steam Pump, the progress made and the current need with Steam Pump Restoration.

One of the wonderful projects of Questers is that they support restoration and preservation of historic sites and buildings.

The local chapters make money to support such projects and the state makes funds available for restoration and preservation of our history buildings and sites. The state funds are awarded after grants are presented and reviewed by the Quester State Organization. Sonoran Searchers was awarded a grant from the state in the past.
