Socrates @ SaddleBrooke

Tom Marshall

Socrates @ SaddleBrooke (S@S) is embarking on its fifth season this fall with a new format—roundtable discussions. We’ll begin meeting on Monday, Sept. 22, in the east wing of the MountainView ballroom at 4 p.m.

We’ll continue to meet every fourth Monday of the month in the east wing of the ballroom at 4 p.m. for six more months, excluding December for the holidays. Our roundtable discussions will be based on the following topics:

1. Sept. 22: God and Science

2. Oct. 27: Beginning of the Universe

3. Nov. 24: Privileged Planet Earth

4. Jan. 26: Origin of Life

5. Feb. 23: Origin of the Species

6. March 23: What does it mean to be human?

7. April 27: Who or what is God?

In preparation for the discussion on God and Science, members and non-members alike can go to the S@S website at www.socratesSB.club to find videocasts on the topic “Has Science Rediscovered a Creator?” Buried in the scientific research of the last 50 years is evidence that a Creator God exists and provides the best explanation for origins and destiny, but this is contrary to the popular cultural narrative that science has buried God. Instead, we think the scientific evidence points to a Creator God.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with S@S or who have further questions about the new format, please contact Dick Hardy at rhardy1234@aol.com or call 440-773-1065. Again, the Socrates @ SaddleBrooke website is www.socratesSB.club.
