Senior Village at SaddleBrooke – Neighbors helping Neighbors

An open letter to Senior Village

Senior Village occasionally receives notes of appreciation from members grateful for the services we provide. What follows is an unsolicited letter from our member Sheila Abraham who sums up the reasons why the Village has grown to over 500 members in three years with 160 dedicated volunteers.

“I wanted to take the time to acknowledge an amazingly caring, giving, and selfless group of people here in SaddleBrooke.

This is a group of people that are here for all of us here in SaddleBrooke, who volunteer their time to help others.

After the loss of my husband, and my advanced age, I found myself in need of some assistance with getting to doctor’s appointments, dental appointments, grocery stores, help with some miscellaneous projects, etc. I was lucky enough to hear about a wonderful group of people who are here and ready and willing to help their neighbors.

When I reached out to them for a ride to a doctor’s appointment, they were very accommodating. Making the arrangements was easy, their follow up was fantastic and the driver who took me to the appointment went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of and treated like I was the most important person in the world.

I have been able to take advantage of their service now on multiple occasions and they never disappoint.

In addition to rides and assistance with small projects—they take the time to offer special activities for the recipients of their services and provide adorable gift baskets consisting of many wonderful homemade treats.

With these volunteers always putting the needs of others ahead of theirs, they would never brag about themselves. I feel the need to make sure everybody is aware of this great group of people and to advise you all of the superior services available to us all through the SaddleBrooke Senior Village group.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers at SaddleBrooke Senior Village! I am so very fortunate to have you all in my life.”
