School’s out for summer

Janet Tucker

Who remembers Alice Cooper’s great summer anthem? I may not have been a wild Alice Cooper fan, but I have always liked that song. So here we are in the delightful month of May, watching the flowers bloom and making summer plans.

The summer time is great time to take advantage of the SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild summer classes. These short mini-classes have been very popular and are a great way for anyone interested in art to test the water and see if painting is right for you. These exciting little classes are taught by our Art Guild members and many of the summer instructors will be in the October 30 and 31 Fine Arts Show.

Half day summer classes are $15 and all day classes are $30. They are also a great way to meet fellow SaddleBrooke members. The summer class schedule is being developed as we speak, so be sure and check out our website at www.saddlebrookefinearts.org for a full list of classes.

Don’t forget our Live Figure Drawing Session the first Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m.to noon. This is not a class but rather a proctored drawing session facilitated by Guild member Laurie Brussel in the Topaz Room. There is a $10 model fee. No registration is required and all skill levels are welcome.

To register for any of the summer classes, go to the website, print the registration form (big brown button at the top of the Class page of the website) and mail it along with your check to the Guild Registrar according to the instructions. Please send a separate registration form and check with each class you wish to take.

Happy painting!
