On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, The MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association (MPWGA) will host our annual Take a Swing at Cancer Golf Tournament with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start at the MountainView Golf Club.
The modified scramble tournament is open to all SaddleBrooke (HOA 1 and 2), SaddleBrooke Ranch ladies and new this year—non-SaddleBrooke residents—so outside female guests are welcome as long as all players have verifiable USGA handicaps. Players may sign up as a team, with a partner or individually. All net proceeds will benefit the University of Arizona Cancer Center for research and support of all types of cancer.
As in the past, we will have a raffle and a silent auction during the luncheon following golf and we are again appealing to your generosity. Thanks to your support over the past years, this event has raised over $100,000 in cancer research donations! Every year we are fortunate to receive beautiful handcrafted items from our very talented members, residents and friends. In addition, many of you have created fantastic theme baskets to be included in our raffle or auction. Items such as a bottle of wine are welcome as we will combine items to create baskets. This year we are hoping to raise even more money by running an additional auction during the MPWGA Sadie Hawkins Tournament on February 16.
We would like your donated items by March 1 for the Take a Swing at Cancer event. If you have any items that you would like to donate, please contact Lee Rock at [email protected] or 818-1579. Thank you again for your support!
