Saturday, April 6, 2019 was a fun-filled evening at the SaddleBrooke One clubhouse lawn. Under the big tree with the mountains behind the band, the weather held, the sprinklers didn’t come on and the hummingbird was in attendance all through the concert as the band played. What a perfect way to spend an evening. The SaddleBrooke Winds & Strings, under the direction of Ed Sand, started off their concert with the Rio Bravo March followed by a few tunes made famous by the Beatles including some singing by the band! Legends, Mamas & Papas, Egotistical Elephant with a Tuba solo by Jim VanBrocklin and the Wild Westerns were next. Ghost Riders was let loose and some tunes by the Association: Windy, Cherish, Along Comes Mary and Never My Love. Sousa Classics and American Heritage March concluded SaddleBrooke Winds & Strings concert for a lovely Saturday night.
The following Thursday evening, April 11, 2019 found SaddleBrooke Winds & Strings entertaining on the SaddleBrooke TWO clubhouse lawn at an ice cream social. It was a chilly and windy evening but that didn’t deter the band or their audience. Again with the tunes being banged out, the audience enthusiastically applauded. I didn’t see many ice cream sundaes but the crowd was prepared with their jackets, gloves and blankets. It was another great evening of music provided by SaddleBrooke Winds & Strings.
