SaddleBrooke Singers show will feature jazz through the years

I can’t believe this is my sixth concert season as a member of the SaddleBrooke Singers. After moving here in May of 2016, this was one of the first groups that I joined. As I reflect on previous shows, I can’t decide which was my favorite because they have all been so varied. As one show comes to a close, it’s always exciting for the members to find out what’s in line for the next concert.

In previous articles, I’ve mentioned the musical talent and great leadership provided by our director Tanya Elias-Graf. Well, we can’t overlook another important task she accomplishes: choosing a theme and organizing the music to be performed in each show. Can you imagine how difficult it must be to select a variety of pieces that will entertain an audience, as well as showcase the talents of the SaddleBrooke Singers? Yet every season she announces a theme and arranges a show that has us excited about rehearsing and bringing her vision to life. This spring’s theme entitled, “And All That’s Jazz?”, gives you a delightful hint as to the broad range of music that falls under the jazz umbrella.

So, what can you expect from the March SaddleBrooke Singer show? The show will span the decades with selections in the areas of jazz, blues and gospel. With a lineup of songs that are familiar and beloved by the listeners, along with the SaddleBrooke Singers’ stamp on each selection, I’m confident you’ll enjoy the show! Make plans now to attend one of the performances on March 29 and 31 at the DesertView Performing Arts Center.

In my article last month, I invited anyone with a love of singing to join us for a fun-filled and rewarding spring season.

At the recent activity fair. Jay Hansen, Loretta Tom and Madeline Bosma were on hand to answer questions about our club and they even welcomed some new members! The chance to sing a variety of great music with friends and neighbors was also a powerful enticement. We feel fortunate to have several new members join us and on behalf of the SB Singers, I am pleased to welcome them to the group! The SaddleBrooke Singers organization is comprised of SaddleBrooke residents and has been presenting programs to the community for almost 25 years.
