Much to our surprise and delight, the SaddleBrooke Nature Club became aware of the Oracle, Arizona treasure known as “Life Under the Oaks” lavender farm. This family friendly venue has existed for several years nestled up against the Coronado National Forest at 103 S. Hobe Road. Owners and day-to-day operators are the Blair family, Carolyn, John, along with daughters Rachel and Amelia, who share their passion for usage of the lavender plant with down home hospitality that is rarely experienced in our fast-paced lives.
The Blairs host seasonal events here, including the increasingly popular “Lavender Celebration” in June. On Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, they open the farm up to the public to explore.
Beyond the lavender, you’ll meet lots of critters who call the property home— cats, chickens and ducks; a bunny; goats named Lily, Starbuck and Freeman; a horse named Promise and Mr. Friday, the most lovable miniature donkey around.
In the words of Carolyn and John, “We are a family-owned farm offering a unique and beautiful setting for friends and family of all ages to gather and enjoy art, farm life and nature.”
Plan to make your own discovery listening to live music, dining under the canopy of 100-year-old oak trees and just thinking about your next outing to this lavender inspired farm. From the dinner table to sweet treats next to a campfire, a visit to the farm will surround you with beautiful vistas and the unmistakable essence of lavender in the air.. Book a private event such as a bridal shower, tea or birthday party. Peruse the studio/gift shop for art cards or local lavender products on an Open Farm Day.
