A huge thank you to the SBWGA-18 for hosting LAGOS 2025, “Unlocking Friendships.” CJ Johnson and BJ Murray chaired this popular event, making us all feel welcome and appreciated. They even coerced Mother Nature to provide a perfect morning for the nine-hole, step-aside scramble.
Hosting a full field, the tournament was divided into two flights. The SBWGA-18 and SaddleBrooke Niners enjoyed this special day. Prize money was awarded to the first five teams in each flight. The first-place, first-flight winners were the foursome of Carol Bidwell, Linda Moraga, Julie Klarkowski, and Kay Sullivan. First place in the second flight were Teresa Jenkins, Ruth Irving, Becky Ray, and Sandra Wagoner. Congratulations to all winners!
The table decorations were amazing, as was the lunch. Thanks to Vicki Long for such gorgeous centerpieces. I also need to mention the great tee prize that we all received: a hand-decorated key chain with a key to the golf course bathrooms! Definitely a gift we will all use!
Overseeding is now in progress. It is a quiet time, but we will be ramping up again with golf and a luncheon on Oct. 21. The Nominating Committee has been hard at work and will announce the 2026 slate of officers at the luncheon.
The next general meetings and luncheons will take place in November and December. The Turkey Shoot is set for Tuesday, Nov. 18, with the holiday play day on Dec. 9. More details on these events will be in our next article.
Are you thinking about joining a golf league? Did you know that you can give us a “trial run”? Yes! We are a fun and welcoming group of women who enjoy nine holes of golf. For more information, please visit our website at www.sb9ers.org.
