SaddleBrooke Ladies Niners Golf Association Moving into 2025

Kathy DeMerritt

The Dec. 10 golf and holiday luncheon was well attended. It was a great time for all, as we recognized the “village” of members who continue to support our league and welcomed the 2025 executive board. Congrats to all, and a special shout-out to Susan Lucci, 2024 Most Improved Player!

Along with the Dec. 10 festivities, representatives from the Golder Ranch Fire District (who promote Toys for Tots) accepted generous support from our members and league. What a great program! Children registered with the fire department have an opportunity to shop with a fireman. The child is allowed to choose toys and/or clothing on their shopping trip.

Jan. 14 will find many members playing in the Founders Cup and enjoying lunch in the Vistas. Sign-up is available on Golf Genius. The next article will talk about the Founders Cup. I am curious to know about the details and will share the history with you in the February edition of the SaddleBrooke Progress.

Qualifying rounds for the 2026 State Medallion start on Jan. 21, followed by Feb. 18, March 4, and April 15. Competition is from the red tees. Two ladies with the best low gross and two ladies with the best low net (based on playing two of the above dates) will represent our league at the State Medallion in 2026. Note: Players need to participate in at least two of the rounds to be eligible, but not all four.

It’s important to know the rules of golf, whether you play for fun or in competition. Have you brushed up on the rules of golf lately? Need clarification on a rule or want to use the rules of golf to your advantage? Then join us for the complimentary AGA Rules Training Seminar on Jan. 22. This is a great opportunity for all golfers. Sign-up is available in Golf Genius.

Make your own foursome (MYOF) is a popular event. The next event is on Tuesday, Jan. 28. If you would like to play but don’t have a foursome, that isn’t a problem. You can sign up on Golf Genius, and you will be included in a group. It’s a great way to meet new friends!

We extend a warm welcome to new members Jan Wheelock, Bev Powell, and Karen VanderJagt. Are you thinking about joining a golf league? If you are interested, please contact our membership chair Karla Kincaid at [email protected]. We are a fun and welcoming group of women who enjoy nine holes of golf!
