On Feb. 22 the SaddleBrooke Hiking Club had 17 hikers participate in the 13th Annual Move Across 2 Ranges event. This fantastic event begins with hiking in the beautiful Tortolita Mountains and concludes with a hike in Catalina State Park. There was a challenge for everyone: 7.5 miles, 10 miles, 14.5 miles, and 18.5 miles.

The SaddleBrooke hikers who participated in the event were as follows:

18.5 miler: Margaret Valair, Kaori Hashimoto, David Remy, Denny Teusch, Beth Remy, and Christine Vanhoozer

14.5 miler: Terry McCarthy and Molly Kovash

10 miler: Ruth Caldwell, Holly Bukes, David Wemmer, Kristy Johnson, Johanna Pawelczyk, Missy Rodey, and Maria Szentirmai

7.5 miler: Marc Humphrey and Nancy Reed

The morning was brisk for the start of their hike in the Tortolita Mountains. Everyone was enthusiastic as they stepped off on their individual trails. After the morning section in the Tortolitas, they headed to Catalina State Park for the second portion. The 10-mile and 7.5-mile groups caught up with each other and trekked the second portion of the hike together.

When they were done hiking, the event wrapped up with an after-party with food, beverages, and lots of great raffle prizes.

All of the participants enjoyed the event and look forward to participating in the event again next year!
