RV Club Visits Big Bend National Park

The end of October is a perfect time to visit this huge national park. Big Bend National Park, located on the Texas–Mexico border, is larger than the State of Rhode Island. It is so large that it has three internal ecosystems. It is home to more cacti, birds, bats, butterflies, and scorpions than any other national park.

We found many beautiful trails to hike, bike, and drive. A family of javelinas shared the main road with us on the scooter and forced daylight application of Arizona night driving skills to avoid collision.

The RV group visited an abandoned chemical mine, which was only accessible with Far Flung Jeep Tours. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, and informative, adding spice to the journey.

Our RV park, Maverick, was beautiful, very neat, and had sparkling clean facilities, and we highly recommend.

Big Bend National Park has areas scheduled for renovation during 2025, so be sure to check in advance of your trip.
