The SaddleBrooke Democratic Club (SBDC) will hold its annual gala and fundraiser at the SaddleBrooke MountainView ballroom on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m. Tickets and dinner selections are available for sale online at saddlebrookedemocrats.org/meetings, or you can print the form on the club’s website and send a check. This year’s theme is “Finding the Path Forward,” and speakers will discuss what happened in the last election and what Democrats and Independents should do to protect fundamental rights and elect candidates who reflect our values. Mark your calendar and join in the fun!
The club will have a table at the SaddleBrooke TWO Recreation and Activities Fair on Saturday, Feb. 8, in the MountainView ballroom from 8 to 11 a.m. Come visit us, hobnob, and grab a Nestlé chocolate kiss while they last!
Mega congratulations to Kevin Volk who was elected as our Democratic State House Representative in District 17 for a two-year term. Kevin said he thinks, “[Arizona voters] want leaders to focus on public service—getting things done that improve lives for Arizonans.” Thanks to everyone for doing your part in this great success. We wish him well.
SBDC needs to find candidates for its slate for club officers, including the chair, vice chair, and treasurer, before the February meeting. The election of the new officers will be at the March meeting, and they will take office immediately. Anyone interested in serving should email Holly Lyon at hollacelyon@gmail.com, Ginny Rood at ginrood@gmail.com, or Karla Trippe at me@ktrippe.com.
The next club meeting will be on Jan. 14 at 3:30 p.m. in the SaddleBrooke One Activities Center. There will be a presentation on election results in SaddleBrooke and Eagle Crest precincts and how the club performed against its objectives.
We wish everyone a healthy and safe 2025.
