Scandals, staff intrigues, political skirmishes; sound familiar? Actually, it is the Victorian Age.

MASTERPIECE: Victoria, starring Jenna Coleman as the young Queen and Tom Hughes as her husband Prince Albert, returns in January for a third season. Starting in 1848, the latest installment of the lavish drama will depict a turbulent and uncertain time for both Europe and the monarchy. With revolution on the continent and the Chartist movement reaching its peak in London, Victoria is under pressure from the government to leave London for her own safety.

Arizona Public Media PBS 6 invites you to attend the exclusive sneak preview of MASTERPIECE: Victoria season three at SaddleBrooke’s DesertView Theater on Monday, January 7 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A University of Arizona professor will introduce the preview and put season three in historical context for us.

This presentation is a project of Unit 32 residents Margaret and Martin Falkowski, Patty and Tom Killoran and Barbara and Phil Williams. Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Register for your free tickets at azpm.org/sbvictoria3 beginning December 1. The program will include a free drawing of Arizona Public Media and Victoria memorabilia.

The season three premiere will air on Sunday, January 13 at 9:00 p.m. on PBS 6.
