This March, SaddleBrooke’s own community theatre group, The PrimeTime Players, will present its ninth production since its beginning in 2005 with SaddleBrooke’s own talent. They opened with No Way Out, followed by The Curious Savage, It’s a Wonderful Life Live Radio Play, Rehearsal for Murder, The State vs. Max Cooper, The Steele Deal, The Dining Room and The 39 Steps. Their goal has always been to present interesting, unique and enjoyable live stage plays that have something to say.
The House of Tomorrow, their upcoming spring play, is an original comedy/drama written and directed by Susan Shear. Much like The Dining Room and The 39 Steps, it features a small cast portraying over 50 roles of all ages. Through individual stories and musical numbers (a first for the group), The House of Tomorrow is about changes and challenges as we age with stories about such things as befuddling technology, grown and not so grownup children, needy parents, new beginnings, independence or the lack thereof and relationships fresh and frustrating, budding and boring. Linda Griffin is the Musical Director in charge of solo and group numbers that add to the stories.
The talented SaddleBrooke cast includes Ron Andrea, Susan Sterling, Tim Morsani, Shawne Cryderman, Sandra Mahanna, Sam Page, Connie Ward, Joan Cohen, Casey Domalewski, Sam Horowitz, Karen Moore and Dianne Ashby. The staff and crew include Pat Andrea, Sue Gehlbach, Dick Fleming, Gin Baber, Linda Wright, Alex Infald, Bill Trapp and Steve Shear.
The House of Tomorrow will have six performances at the MountainView Cabaret Theatre March 24 through 29. Seating is at tables of 10. Tickets are $24 including dessert and coffee/tea. The best tables sell out quickly so buy a table with friends or purchase individual seats. You can obtain information and tickets at 818-1000, the HOA 2 Administration Office or online at saddlebrooketwo.com.
