The Network enters our seventh year as a recognized force in Tucson rescue. Since inception, we re-homed 860 plus animals, donated $128,600 and volunteered 25,220 hours. SaddleBrooke’s power to impact local rescue is extraordinary as we send 100% of donations and fundraiser income to help homeless pets.
Without support for vet costs, saving the saveable comes to a screeching halt. In 2017 we donated $36,323, primarily benefiting rescue group medical bills. We raised $20,332 but our efforts (Mike Peattie with Bork on his freedom ride!) didn’t end there! We used $15,000 of that amount to engage the Tucson community in the second Payoff Vet Debt and raised an additional $15,991! Plus, this year’s I Don’t Want It Sale was a record breaker raising $5,500 to benefit Pima Animal Care Center (gift pending distribution).
Our donation pick-up program completed its second year making 360 plus stops to receive hundreds of pounds of food, countless bags of linens and carloads of pill bottles and pet items for local rescues. We’re excited to report that 63 pets found furever homes and we volunteered 2,220 hours for Pima Animal Care Center! We did all this for $330 in expenses (paid from membership dues).
This year’s Power of Us campaign goal is $10,000 by March 30.
We did it the last two years and, with your support, we’ll do it again. Combined with fundraiser income, if we reach goal, we’ll have enough for a $15,000 match for the third Payoff Vet Debt campaign. A Tucson donor offered to double our match in 2018 which means we could send $45,000 to pay vet debt for local rescues! Now that’s the Power of Us!
Over 1,400 pets wait in shelters/rescues within 50 miles of SaddleBrooke. From their suffering comes our passion to help. Join us in 2018. Donations of $20 plus receive a Network membership.
