Beloved Pastor Roger Pierce has come back to SaddleBrooke. On a number of Sundays the rest of this year Roger will assume the pulpit at Resurrection Church as a visiting pastor.
Sunday, June 21 was Roger’s first appearance. Since many attendees at Resurrection were members at the Community Church when Roger was involved there, he found himself surrounded with familiar and happy faces and was warmly received.
At Resurrection Church, Roger is reunited with Wayne Viereck and Palmer Ruschke, pastors with whom he shared pulpit responsibilities when he was an associate and then the Lead Pastor at the Community Church. There the three of them collectively recognized the all-denominational nature of that church and the need for broad appeal to people of all stripes of belief. It was because of this all-inclusiveness where there were no litmus tests of people’s faith or backgrounds that the church grew from 200 to 400 members, peak Sunday attendance was well above 300 and it was next to impossible for a latecomer to find a seat at the Christmas Eve Service.
Other dates for Roger at Resurrection Church are July 26, August 9 and 23, October 11, November 1 and 22 and December 13. These dates could change and more could be added in the future.
Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke holds its all-denominational Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. in the Vermilion Room at the HOA 1 Clubhouse. All are welcome.
