Dancing is the only sport that lets you hold your partner in your arms! It’s good for you mentally and physically. It’s exercise that is fun!
We will offer a series of four Western Waltz classes starting on March 7. Western waltz is different from ballroom waltz in that our feet are always passing, and we are progressing. I think many of the steps are so pretty, and my favorite is the couple waltz turns, or the Swoosh! Western Waltz 101 will start at 6 p.m. More advanced Western Waltz (201) will start at 7 p.m. Classes are in the Rincon Room, which was previously the SaddleBrooke TWO Golf Shop.
At 5 p.m. on March 7, we will offer classes in the Nightclub Two Step (NC2). The NC2 works with ballads and songs that make you ask, “What dance can I do to this song?” It has some unique steps, and it is a fun alternative.
We will also offer Partner Pattern 101 on Mondays in the Rincon Room starting on March 4 at 6 p.m. Partner pattern dances are similar to line dancing except you do the steps with your partner in the sweetheart position. They are a series of steps that repeat. We start with the simple 10 step and then do different pattern dances, like the Sway, which is 16 steps, then repeat. These are a fun alternative to the two-step dances. At 7 p.m. we will offer Partner Pattern 201. These are more intricate dance steps. We ask for a donation of $2 per student per class.
I have been teaching dance here in SaddleBrooke for 18 years. We have other couples who assist in teaching under our auspices. We all love sharing the joy we have had dancing with our SaddleBrooke neighbors.
The Partners Western Dance Club has dances scheduled monthly. We have dances with a live band, Wild Ride, and DJ dances. Wild Ride is the best band in Tucson, in my opinion, and their music is great to dance to or listen to. We have a great group of dancers, so we have a ground-pounding, boot-stomping good time!
Don’t miss out on the fun! Grab your partner and your neighbors, and stop sitting on the sidelines; get up and dance!
