Just over a year ago Resurrection Church opened its doors here in SaddleBrooke. Although the church has grown rapidly and now holds two services, it is still in the process of fully defining itself and its various activities.
Building on a planning session and social held earlier in the year, during the month of October a group of women volunteers met to determine some short term and ongoing social and women’s activities. This group is known as the OWLS (Old Wise Ladies) and their planning has resulted in initial concensus in several areas.
First, a prayer shawl ministry is in the works as is a ministry to provide food and support to church families in times of illness and crisis. Second, two G.R.A.C.E. (Growing Relationships Around Christ’s Example) patio parties and two potlucks will be held annually. In addition, a December activity is on the drawing board which should result in significant support for IMPACT in Catalina. Stay tuned; there will be more in the future as their plans continue to develop.
The volunteers involved are Liz Baty, Sue Birky, Sharon Dunn, Marty Harsch, Karen Hustad, Lauchette Low, Sandi Newberry, Judy Stanard and Barbara Webb.
Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke holds its traditional all-denominational Sunday worship services at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. in the Vermilion Room at the HOA 1 Clubhouse. All are welcome.
