They’re Golden Goose truckers, of course! They work approximately four hour shifts, anywhere from one to ten days per month, depending on the amount of time they choose to donate. Some drive the truck but most ride along as helpers. Some volunteer year round and some are snowbirds. They range in age from 57 to 77 and come from all walks of life including teachers, bankers, lawyers, airline pilots, a psychologist, an FBI agent and a veterinarian, just to name a few.

Here are a few things these old guys want you to know:

1. Box or bag smaller items scheduled for pickup. Not only is it time intensive to handle small items individually, but they fly around the truck and get broken.

2. We don’t accept electronics or appliances that no longer work and we don’t accept stained, torn, broken or damaged items. All donations must be in saleable condition.

3. Please call back and tell us if you add or delete items scheduled for pickup. We schedule both our time and our space on the truck based on the items you tell us we are getting.

4. Give us a week’s notice to schedule pickups and remember—we are too old to do stairs!

5. Finally, we need help! If you think you might like to join our band of merry truckers or you just want more information, call Charlotte James at 825-3856.

We appreciate your support of the Goose through both your donations and your purchases. Please call us at 825-9101 any time you have questions. Check out our website at goldengooseaz.com and like us on Facebook.
