GLAAS (Gays, Lesbians, and Allies at SaddleBrooke), held its third annual meeting on April 20 on the beautiful SaddleBrooke One tennis patio. New leaders were elected, pizza was served and there was a screening of Kissing Jessica Stein kicking off the first GLAAS Movie Night.
New President Sandy McNabb wants to increase the membership of GLAAS by reaching out to Allies, which would include parents and friends of Gays and Lesbians, so watch this space for new upcoming programs and social events. Also, on the 2015 Board are Sandy Wagoner, vice president, Alice Frier, secretary and Barbara Starrett, treasurer.
GLAAS was created to be a safe and welcoming space for LGBT people and their allies in SaddleBrooke. The mission of GLAAS is “to use the power of community and camaraderie to celebrate the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight people and their relationships.” To join and/or for more information about GLAAS, please go to our website SBGLAAS.com or email [email protected].
GLAAS Movie Night was Monday, June 8 on the Tennis Patio. The movie that night was Philadelphia, a 1993 Jonathan Demme film.
