Summer in the Tucson area often brings a welcome reduction in programmed activities and the interest in trying something different in our routines. Does music interest you, do you sing, play an instrument, want to try a hand bell choir opportunity? All of these activities are part of the regular worship services at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church, although on a smaller scale during the summer.
Music Director Charmaine Piane Dame has brought more than 30 years of experience to Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montana and many additional continuing education credits in the field of music and worship leadership. Charmaine is a talented pianist, organist and soloist. The full choir of two dozen singers is active from fall into the spring, with individual vocalists and instrumentalists supporting the summer services. The musical selections closely follow the scripture and sermon portions of the worship program, which includes the prelude, introit, offertory, postlude and sung responses throughout the service. Her talents and her participants praise God with voices, piano and organ music, as well as various instrumentalists. She is full of enthusiasm and willing to answer any questions.
Mountain Shadows is centered in Christ, caring for community. There are many chances to get involved in programs and projects that show God’s love for our neighbors, here in our geographic area. You might participate in activities that have an international need, to take field trips to see and learn about challenges in our state. And yes, we have many on site events including Bible studies, workshops and a variety of health information programs. Each Sunday service is followed by a fellowship period during which you can enjoy hot and cold beverages, some munchies and meet those who enjoy the life at MSPC.
