On Dec. 10 the MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association held their holiday event and lunch at MountainView Golf Club. The fantastic sponsors for the day were Ann Fraley-Realtor and Tucson Golf Cars.
Ladies were decked out in holiday attire to play a Pick Your Partner Chapman where both players tee off and then hit each other’s ball for the second shot. Then they select the best positioned ball and scramble to the green. Flight winners were as follows: Flight 1: Janey Clausen and Linda Schauer, Flight 2: Judy Grow and Ann Martin, Flight 3: Debbie McMullin and Kim Cox, Flight 4: Cookie Kaplan and Aleta Rosenthal, Flight 5: Suzan Carter and Betty Cole, and Flight 6: Jenni Farquhar and Debbie Ogle. Linda Linegar won Closest to the Flagstick in hole number 8.
Afterwards, ladies met in the ballroom for a year-end business meeting and turkey luncheon. Outgoing president Brenda Creel gave a year-end recap and emotional goodbye, thanking all “for the honor of being the MPWGA president.” Best Holiday Costumes were awarded to Dawn Roarty and Connie Maslowski who dressed up as Betty and Judy Haynes (the sisters from White Christmas), and they looked fabulous! Runners-up were holiday elves Debbie McMullin and Kim Cox. A raffle was also held for those ladies who got in their 2025 membership before Dec. 1, and new members were introduced. Welcome to Amy Heinz, Marianne Wicks, and Holly Rose.
And, finally, the new 2025 board nominees were announced and approved: Lori Stegink (President), Melanie Bassham (VP), Susan Salmeri (Secretary), Connie Maslowski (Treasurer), Cathy Quesnell (Handicap), Jane Megrdle (Weekly Events), Carey Ricard (Sponsorship), Suzan Carter (Membership), Andi Dresch (Social), Connie Simonds (Rules), and Donna Yon (Special Events).
