Wrapping up the 2023 year, the final big event was at noon on Dec. 11 when 110 MV Lady Putters gathered in the MountainView ballroom for their annual Holiday Luncheon. The room was decorated in an elegant setting with chair sashes, ornate centerpieces, and candlelight. Piano music was provided by JoAnn Wilbour as the ladies arrived, and later, there was a sing-along led by Marilyn Ginther and special music by Randall and Linda Dighton and Susan Stewart, members of the Catalina Chorale. The food was a selection of deliciously prepared beef stroganoff, pasta primavera with chicken, or vegan pomodoro. The Putters members received gift cards and/or special gifts provided by the Holiday Luncheon Committee. A 25/25/50 drawing was won by Pat Brothers and Pat Morris. After a special thank you, the meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m. by current president Patty Stark.
The annual registration meeting will be held in the MountainView ballroom on Jan. 17. Ladies will complete a registration form and submit annual dues of $72. Members will also sign up for a task to complete during the 2024 putting year—everything from Chip Starter, Course Setup, Course Takedown, or a committee for special events throughout the year, such as Moonlight Madness, Goofy Golf, Putters Partners, Quail Creek Putters (here this year), Ranchettes (there this year), Holiday Luncheon, or Founders Day Luncheon. We will have a short meeting to welcome new and returning members, introduce the 2024 officers (which includes our new president Kim Klindtworth), and share what is in store for the year ahead. As the Putters begin their new season in February, they will kick off the year with their annual Founders Day Luncheon on Monday, Feb. 12. If you wish to attend, make sure you have your $20 check in the black box by Feb. 5. This is a time we honor the past 26 years of Lady Putters presidents. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.
