MountainView Lady Putters donate to San Manuel teachers

Jean Kraus

On Monday, August 6 MountainView Lady Putters members Vice President Pam Smith, Linda Edwards and MaryJo Lewis presented a check, all from donations by our members, for $800 to San Manuel Junior/Senior High School Principal Julie Dale-Scott. In addition to money for teachers to purchase school supplies, MVLP members also provided dry erase markers, scissors, pens, packages of copy paper, paper clips, yellow sticky notes, Crayola crayons, pencils, glue sticks, push pins, erasers, 4 bags of teaching aids for teachers and a bag of children’s books. The supplies have an estimated value of $200. This allowed MVLP to reach our goal of $1,000 (both cash and supplies). MVLP feels it is important to provide this aid to teachers who usually buy supplies out-of-pocket with no reimbursement.

Obviously, this donation won’t get teachers through the entire school year, but it is a start. If you happen to be at Target, Office Depot or any store that carries school supplies and want to help teachers throughout the year – make a purchase and deliver them to the San Manuel School District. It will be greatly appreciated!

Mountainview Lady Putters are pleased to be involved with schools from our local area and are happy to help teachers in this small way.
