In 1997 a handful of faithful residents of SaddleBrooke and the environs established a worshiping fellowship that became Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church. On Sunday, Oct. 30, Mountain Shadows will celebrate 25 years as a congregation “centered in Christ, caring for community.” All are welcome to join the celebration, which will begin at 10 a.m. at 3201 East Mountainaire Drive (at Oracle Road, south of Wilds Road). The worship service will feature an original hymn composed by SaddleBrooke resident Steven Cupo. Following worship, guests will be treated to a festive lunch reception with delicious food and spirited music performed by the Oro Valley Jazz Band.
Guided by the Bible and contemporary wisdom, the people of Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church act to share God’s love for all creation. As Jesus welcomed everyone, the congregation affirms the gifts of all people, including LGBTQIA+ folks. They resist racism and other evils, feed the hungry, and specialize in celebrating older adults. They honor diverse viewpoints, prioritizing humility, respect, and kindness in all relationships. The Mountain Shadows congregation delights in welcoming newcomers and encourages SaddleBrooke residents to come and celebrate the church’s 25th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m.
