This year Catalinas Community Chorus is celebrating 10 years of the magic of making music and the joy of community.
A community chorus in Oro Valley, a long-time dream of Cyndee Chaffee, began on January 16, 2006, with 16 singers and accompanist Marge Ahlstrand. By the first concert in April 2007 there were over 40 enthusiastic singers–-all volunteer—and a true community chorus was born.
In the next few years, the chorus grew to over 85 members and collaborated with St. Andrews Presbyterian Church’s presentation of Elijah, Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra’s Carmina Burana, as well as partnering with Tucson Girls Chorus, Masterworks Chorale, Southern Arizona Symphonic Winds and the Tucson Jazz Institute.
Bill Bellah became Artistic Director in July 2011. Well known throughout Tucson, Bill brings tremendous creativity and expertise to his musical leadership and designs highly entertaining programs. Under his continuing leadership, Catalinas Community Chorus (CCC) defines itself as Northwest Tucson’s Pops Chorus, singing a variety of musical styles including Broadway, pop, spiritual and classical.
This spring, CCC is celebrating a decade of joy in volunteering through the magic of music—a chorus OF the community and FOR the community, featuring music for all ages. Come help us celebrate at one of the following events.

Both programs, titled Memories and More, are directed by Bill Bellah, and narrated by KGUN9 News Anchor, Guy Atchley, who will emcee in the style of This is Your Life, Catalinas Community Chorus. We will share memories and favorites from the past ten years, including a guest appearance by Cyndee Chaffee.
