Thank You, Wally and Jeanny Mara
Randy Miles
Many members of the Latin Rhythm Dance Club gathered March 27 at the home of Steve Apfelbaum and Carol Osgood to show our appreciation for our instructors, Wally and Jeanny Mara. All of us in attendance have learned a dance or two, or more, from Wally and Jeanny – and have really enjoyed the experience.
Wally and Jeanny started the Latin Rhythm Dance Club 11 years ago and since then have taught well over one hundred dance courses. Their repertoire includes the standards of Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango, Salsa and Samba. They also teach other Latin dances such as Merenge, Bachata, Mambo, Bolero and Paso Doble – and they have taught ballroom dances such as Foxtrot, Quickstep and Nightclub Two Step. Wally and Jeanny also have created a unique form of Tango by inserting steps from other dances, aptly naming it Tango Fusion.
Their teaching style makes it easy to learn, with lots of explanation, demonstration, encouragement and individual attention – and so much fun! A bonus is that each class is video recorded and an instructional DVD is then created for that class. Many of us routinely use these DVDs. The club has monthly dances on the third Tuesday as well as three or four club subsidized dinner-dances a year. Come join the fun and amazing friends to be made here in SaddleBrooke.
